How it comes together

    Sauté onion, carrot, and celery in olive oil 8 minutes until soft.

    Add garlic and tomato paste; cook 2 minutes until deepened.

    Add lentils, crushed tomatoes, broth, and oregano. Simmer 35–40 minutes until lentils are tender and sauce is thick.

    Cook pasta, drain, and fold into sauce with a splash of pasta water.

    Serve topped with torn basil and cracked pepper.
